Lunar New Year is a vibrant celebration that marks the beginning of a new year based on the lunar calendar.
It is celebrated by many cultures around the world with traditions such as family gatherings, special meals, decorations and festivals. The celebration symbolises new beginnings, good fortune, and happiness, with people wishing each other health and prosperity for the year ahead.
Lunar New Year is also a time to honour traditions, show respect to elders, and celebrate culture and community. We will be teaching the children about the Lunar New Year during our oracy assembly on Monday. This year is the year of the horse! Happy Lunar New Year to all of our families celebrating over half term on Tuesday 17th February.
