Music at Grange

Music plays an important part of life at Grange Primary School. Each year group learn songs, listen to music and compose pieces of music using various instruments during topic lessons. Children attend weekly singing assemblies and have opportunities to perform to large groups.

Many year groups at Grange are taught how to play an instrument by a peripatetic music specialist. Children in Years 1, 2, and 3 are taught music by a music specialist teacher. In Year 4 children are taught how to play the recorder. In Year 5 children learn to play the ukulele, and in Year 6 children learn how to play the Samba drums.

After school, children have the opportunity to join our school drumming club and many other music clubs offered.
